BEST HOUSE

The special morning assembly was held in February 2019, and the result for the best houses was declared for the various activities which were conducted throughout the year 2018-19. This year the Best House Trophy for the academic activities was given to GANDHI HOUSE and for the sports the trophy was given to NEHRU HOUSE. Overall NEHRU HOUSE was declared as the best house for the year 2018 – 19.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

72nd Independence Day was celebrated on 15th Aug. 2018 with plenty of energy and enthusiasm at Lonavala Campus. Prof M.N. Navale Sir, Hon’ble Founder President, STES, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the celebration. The students of SPS family performed a patriotic song. The chief guest, Prof M.N. Navale Sir addressed the gathering. He inspired the faculty to understand the need of make in India and requested to work hard for the growth of the society. He urged the students to strive hard for the growth of the nation. He inspired the faculty members as well as encouraged the students. The Campus Director along with other directors, principals, teaching, non-teaching staff and the students of Lonavala Campus witnessed the programme.

Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima was celebrated with full enthusiasm by the students of SPS family. They expressed their views in the morning assembly and wished the teachers.

Raksha Bandhan

On the occasion of ‘Rakshabandhan’ NGC dept. of SPS family visited Lonavala to tie ‘Eco-Friendly Rakhis’ to the traffic police of Lonavala. The Eco-Friendly Rakhis were prepared by SPS students. They appreciated the efforts of SPS. This function was reported in daily newspaper Lokmat.

Dahi Handi

Celebration of Janmashtami, birth of Lord Krishna includes a number of ceremonies like, Raslila, Jhankis (tableaux) etc. Dahi Handi is a popular ceremony, celebrated with lot of enthusiasm and glee. Dahi Handi is an enactment of Lord Krishna’s efforts to steal butter from Matka (earthen pot) suspended from the ceiling. Enthusiastic young men, form a human pyramid by standing one on top of the other, trying to break the pot. Onlookers throw water on the young men in order to prevent them from breaking the pot. Breaking of the pot is followed by prize distribution. It was celebrated with tremendous zeal and with sense of togetherness.Students of residential section enjoyed it. They danced, formed the human pyramid and broke the pot. It was also celebrated by tiny tots of SPS colourful dress.

Ganesh Utsav

Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is celebrated on the birthday (re-birth) of Lord Ganesh.It is the day Shiva declared his son Ganesh as superior to all the gods, barring Vishnu, Lakshmi, Shiva and Parvati. The festival is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhadrapada starting on the Shukla Chaturthi(fourth day of the waxing moon period).The festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi(fourteenth day of the waxing moon period). Ganesh Utsav was celebrated with full enthusiasm in SPS. The idol was placed in the Assembly Hall. Daily aarti was conducted twice. The campus witnessed the immersion ceremony.

Navratra Utsav

Navratri is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga. The word Navaratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit, nava meaning nine and ratri meaning nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti / Devi are worshiped. The 10th day is commonly referred to as Vijayadashami or Dushera. The idol was installed in the Assembly Hall. Daily morning and evening “aarti” was conducted by the school staff and students. Various inter house competitions were conducted on the auspicious occasion of Navratri.

GANDHI HOUSE was declared as the best house for the year 2015 – 16.

This year the Best House Trophy for the academic activities was given to SUBHASH HOUSE and for the sports the trophy was given to GANDHI HOUSE. GANDHI HOUSE was declared as the best house for the year 2014 – 15.
